Think you’ve what’s needed to help out a member nearby? Read on to find out how you can make an offer on Helpfulpeeps.

Find a request you can help with

You can find all requests awaiting help on the Home screen, sorted in reverse-chronological order (latest first).

Pressing on any request in your feed will show more details about that request, which will help you get a sense of whether you can help.

It’s worth noting the type of request you’re looking at, which is shown in the bottom left of the request screen. Paid requests include a budget, which signals what the member who made the request is willing to pay for the help they need and favour requests use a simple favour badge.

Offering help on favour requests

If you would like to offer help on a favour type request, press the Offer help button in the bottom right of the screen. This will open a popup where you can add a short note explaining how you can help before submitting your offer. This note will become the first message in a message thread with the other member, where you can then continue your conversation.

Offering help on paid requests

If you would like to offer help on a paid request, press the Make an offer button in the bottom right of the screen. This will open a popup where you can choose the amount you would like to earn for helping and leave a note on why you would be a good choice. This note will become the first message in a message thread with the other member, where you can then continue your conversation.

If it’s your first time offering help on a paid request, you will be asked to complete some account verification steps. The reason for this is that if your offer is accepted, you will be in a position to earn money directly into your bank account. To allow this to happen, you’ll need to add:

  1. Your bank account. Specifically, your bank account number and sort code. Just like when your friends and family pay money into your bank account, we use this information when we need to transfer money to you. This information is stored securely by our payments processor, who follow the most stringent levels of security in the payments industry – trusted by the likes of Uber and Airbnb.
  2. Your date of birth. To ensure you are a suitable age (over 18 years old) to receive funds, we require your date of birth.
  3. Approval of terms. The payments provider we use to transfer funds to you requires users to agree to their terms to meet compliance obligations in the payments industry. Take time to review the terms, then you’re good to go.

Once you have submitted your offer, you’ll be able to update that offer any time up until it is accepted or declined by the other member.

You can update your offer from either the bottom right corner of the request screen, or from the new message thread that gets started upon submitting your offer.

And... Just like that... We’ve offered help! Now it’s time to sit back and wait to hear from the other member to get the ball rolling.

Maybe give yourself a pat on the back whilst waiting for being so awesome.
